Job summary

Kindred is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant for a long-term acute care setting in Chicago. You will support professional nursing staff by assisting patients with daily living activities, documenting vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort and safety in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to document care.

Responsibilities

• Consult with supervisor and report unit activities and issues.
• Provide general nursing care including patient positioning, bathing, feeding, and mobility assistance.
• Record vital signs and intake/output accurately and document promptly.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and patient belongings.
• Answer call lights and paging system promptly.
• Assist with routine treatments under RN direction.
• Use restraints safely under RN guidance.
• Assist with complex treatments alongside RN/LVN/LPN.
• Serve and remove patient meals and assist with feeding.
