Job summary

Kindred Hospital Indianapolis is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff in providing patient care in assigned units. You will assist patients with activities of daily living, help with mobility, hygiene, feeding and comfort, and prepare rooms and supplies for admissions and procedures.

Under RN direction you will perform routine tasks, take vitals, document care, respond to call lights, and help ensure a safe, clean environment while maintaining compassionate,

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations.
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned area.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, emotional support and performs more complex clinical skills under the direction of professional nursing personnel.
• Takes and records vital signs and measurements; documents promptly.
• Prepares patient rooms and beds for admission, transfers, and discharge; maintains a clean, comfortable environment.
• Assists with admission, transfer and discharge procedures and with patient belongings.
• Assists with feeding and meal trays and responds to patient needs in a timely manner.
