Job summary

Hospice of Marion County, a member of Empath Health, seeks a compassionate CNA Field in Ocala to provide compassionate end-of-life care. Schedule: four days, 10am-8pm with rotating weekends. You will deliver physical care, assist with activities, and support families within a dedicated Hospice team.

Requirements include Florida CNA license, BLS CPR, and at least six months of experience; a driver’s license is preferred. Join a mission-driven team delivering Full Life Care.

Qualifications

• Florida CNA license required or in process.
• Six months of CNA experience preferred in hospital or long-term care.
• Current BLS CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical care including bathing, linen changes, feeding, ambulation assistance, and repositioning.
• Reinforce dressings and follow Standard Precautions and infection control procedures.
• Perform light housekeeping in patient areas and restock supplies as needed.
• Educate and support family caregivers regarding care and disease processes.

Schedule: 4 days, 10am-8pm with rotating weekends

What you'll Do

• Deliver physical care to patients, including bathing, changing linens, feeding, assisting with ambulation and transfers, and supporting range-of-motion exercises and positioning.
• Reinforce dressings as needed and adhere to infection control procedures and Standard Precautions against Bloodborne Pathogens.
• Perform light housekeeping duties in patient areas, including laundry, trash disposal, meal preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, disinfecting equipment, and replenishing supplies.
• Collaborate with other Hospice team members to educate primary caregivers and families regarding physical care, disease processes, and emotional support for patients.

What You'll Need

• Experience: Six months of experience as a CNA in a hospital or long-term care skilled nursing facility preferred. A letter of recommendation from an instructor may be requested for candidates with no prior job experience.
• Licensure:
  • Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
  • Valid Florida State Driver’s License
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification.
