Job summary

Hospice of Marion County is seeking a caring CNA to work in Marion County, providing compassionate end-of-life care. Schedule includes 12-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, 8am–8pm, PRN, with opportunities for growth within Empath Health.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, infection control, and supporting families and caregivers. Requirements include a Florida CNA license, BLS CPR, a driver’s license, and prior CNA experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Six months of CNA experience preferred.
  • Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA).
  • Florida State Driver’s License.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver physical care to patients, including bathing, linens, feeding, ambulation and transfers.
  • Reinforce dressings and follow Standard Precautions.
  • Perform light housekeeping in patient areas and restock supplies.
  • Educate caregivers and families on care, disease processes, and emotional support.

Job description

Hospice of Marion County, a member ofEmpath Health,is seeking a caring and motivated CNA Field to work with us in Marion County while providing exceptional care.

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 8am to 8p on Saturday and Sunday, PRN

What you'll Do
  • Deliver physical care to patients, including bathing, changing linens, feeding, assisting with ambulation and transfers, and supporting range-of-motion exercises and positioning.
  • Reinforce dressings as needed and adhere to infection control procedures and Standard Precautions against Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties in patient areas, including laundry, trash disposal, meal preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, disinfecting equipment, and replenishing supplies.
  • Collaborate with other Hospice team members to educate primary caregivers and families regarding physical care, disease processes, and emotional support for patients.

What You’ll Need
  • Experience: Six months of experience as a CNA in a hospital or long-term care skilled nursing facility preferred. A letter of recommendation from an instructor may be requested for candidates with no prior job experience.
  • Licensure:
    • Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
    • Valid Florida State Driver’s License
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification.
