Job summary

Hospice of Marion County in Ocala, part of Empath Health, seeks a caring CNA to join our Marion County team on 12-hour shifts (8am–8pm) on Saturdays and Sundays, PRN. You will provide direct patient care, support families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver Full Life Care.

Requirements include Florida CNA certification, BLS CPR, a valid Florida driver’s license, and six months of CNA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months of CNA experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver physical care to patients, including bathing, changing linens, feeding, assisting with ambulation and transfers, and supporting range-of-motion exercises and positioning.
• Reinforce dressings as needed and adhere to infection control procedures and Standard Precautions against Bloodborne Pathogens.
• Perform light housekeeping duties in patient areas, including laundry, trash disposal, meal preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, disinfecting equipment, and replenishing supplies.
• Collaborate with other Hospice team members to educate primary caregivers and families regarding physical care, disease processes, and emotional support for patients.

What You’ll Need

• Experience: Six months of experience as a CNA in a hospital or long-term care skilled nursing facility preferred. A letter of recommendation from an instructor may be requested for candidates with no prior job experience.
• Licensure:
  • Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
  • Valid Florida State Driver’s License
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification.
