Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold a current certified nursing assistant license.
• Minimum 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical experience during CNA training.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, visitors and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, tact and a cheerful disposition.
• Must be in good health and emotionally stable.
• Ability to relate to ill, elderly and sometimes challenging individuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as assigned following facility policies and nursing procedures.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to provide care.
• Verify resident identity before care or meals to ensure correct care.
• Report missing ID bands to admission coordinator immediately.
• Make beds and clean bedside/overbed tables.
• Keep water pitchers clean and within resident reach.
• Other related duties as directed by charge nurse or administrator.
