Job summary

Bethesda Health Group is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide patient care support, including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, and safety, under the Charge Nurse guidance. You will document data in charts, assist with admissions, monitor vital signs, and respond quickly to call lights throughout shifts.

You’ll ensure proper use of slings, braces, and assist devices, manage intake/output, and relay information during handoffs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the state you will be working.
• CPR certification, or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy object using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to transfer and move patients who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary.
• Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with patients and equipment.
• Ability to physically perform necessary documentation in writing or use of tape recorder.
• Visual acuity with the ability to distinguish color.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care related support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety as directed by Charge Nurse.
• Document appropriate data into patient records per guidelines.
• Complete admission tasks such as belongings sheet, vital signs, and orientation of new residents.
• Attend to call lights promptly and respond to resident needs.
• Turn and reposition residents on schedule and monitor device safety.
• Take and report vital signs, weights, intake/output as required.
• Apply slings, braces, or other devices per orders.
• Maintain supplies and equipment, alerting when restocking is needed.
• Provide ongoing patient reports to Charge Nurse at shift changes.
• May take on additional duties and reassignments as necessary.
