Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our caring team. The role involves direct patient care, taking vitals, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring safety and infection control.

Candidates should have 1 year of CNA experience (Long Term Care preferred), completion of an approved CNA training, and Heart Saver/BLS certifications; English proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Completed a certified Nurse’s Aide training course.
• Heart Saver certification required (American Heart Association).
• 1 year of CNA experience in Long Term Care preferred.
• English speaking/reading/writing proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care appropriate to patient age groups.
• Take and record TPR, BP, and report deviations to nurses.
• Obtain specimens (urine, stool, sputum) as assigned.
• Assist with activities of daily living and ambulation.
• Record intake and output and maintain bedside areas.
• Maintain infection control and safety in the work area.
• Communicate patient needs with Charge/Primary Nurse.
• Orient patients to environment and support family interactions.
