Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is seeking a Mental Health Assistant dedicated to providing compassionate care. The ideal candidate will assist with patient care duties, ensuring a clean and safe environment, while contributing to a supportive team culture.

This position requires effective communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to engage with patients during care. A CPR certification and successful completion of a Nurse's Aide course are preferred.

We offer competitive pay at $21.25 per hour with differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts, alongside a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Heartsaver/CPR Certification required.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for OPS.
• Must pass Nursing Attendant test administered by BMC.
• Must be computer literate.
• Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and report deviations to the nurse.
• Assist patients with daily living activities.
• Perform admission and unit searches as assigned.
• Ensure cleanliness of patient and non-patient units.
• Effectively engage with patients and ensure their safety.
