Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the state you will be working.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain within six months of employment.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to transfer and move patients who vary in ability to assist and weigh 200+ lbs with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing over 40 lbs with proper techniques and assistance when necessary.
• Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands with patients and equipment.
• Ability to perform necessary documentation in writing or by tape recorder.
• Visual acuity to distinguish colors.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care support including hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety as directed by Charge Nurse.
• Accurately document in patient records and complete admission items upon admission.
• Take vital signs, monitor intake and output, and relay information to Charge Nurse.
• Ensure items such as slings, braces, and other devices are prepared and applied as ordered.
• Turn and reposition residents regularly and assist with mobility.
• Give reports to Charge Nurse at shift changes and assist with rounds as assigned.
• Interact professionally with team members and supervisors; maintain confidentiality.
• May be assigned other duties related to nursing assistance as needed.
