Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is hiring a CNA/Direct Care Giver in Elkhart, IN. You will provide quality care, assist with activities of daily living, and encourage resident independence and participation in activities.

You will work with a caring team, handle documentation, and support residents in meals, transfers, and emergencies. Flexible scheduling and benefits accompany full-time and part-time roles.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current CNA license from the state where the community is located.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of the nursing team and follow the instructions of the supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and coworkers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and push or carry up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.
• Must wear the designated uniform during working hours, including a name badge, and maintain a welcoming, positive attitude.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Report incidents and care concerns to the appropriate individuals and complete documentation.
• Perform housekeeping duties in resident areas and common spaces.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Assist residents to meals and activities and ensure attendance.
• Communicate status and updates to team and families as needed.
• Support new residents during move-in with emotional support.
• Document changes and interventions in the Daily Log and clinical records.
