Job summary

Serenity Hospice is seeking a dedicated Hospice Aide to provide compassionate end-of-life care in the Scranton, PA area. Work locally with supervision from an RN, delivering comfort, dignity, and individualized support for patients and families.

The role emphasizes observing patients, reporting findings, and maintaining safety and quality care in a small team environment. Valid CNA or HHA certification and a licensed driver with insured vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed driver with an automobile and valid license.
• At least 1 year of healthcare experience.
• Understanding of hospice philosophy and ability to provide specialized care.
• Valid CNA and/or HHA certification.

Responsibilities

• Work under RN supervision and perform services to meet patient needs.
• Observe patient status and report observations to the nurse.
• Promote quality, continuity and safety of patient care.
• Carry out CNA duties as required.

Your responsibilities:

• Work under the supervision of a registered nurse and perform various services for your patient as necessary to meet his or her personal needs and promote comfort
• Responsible for observing the patient and reporting these observations
• Promote quality, continuity and safety of your patient’s care
• Certified nursing assistant duties

Required skills and qualifications:

• Licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements
• One year of previous experience working in the healthcare industry
• Understanding of hospice philosophy and ability to comfortably provide specialized care to the terminally ill
• Valid CNA and/or HHA Certification
