Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is seeking a CMT Intern Level 2 to perform routine field and laboratory testing under supervision. You will gain experience in soil, concrete, asphalt testing, and documentation while learning construction practices and project workflows.

You will develop technical skills, reliability, and professionalism; strong communication and the ability to work independently and in teams are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master in Civil Engineering or related field.
• One certification must be completed within 90 days; basic certs within 270 days (Radiation Safety, Soils I, Concrete I).
• A valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary.

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation and testing with guidance from senior staff.
• Conducts routine testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
• Documents field conditions and testing results.
• Assists in preparation and maintenance of field/lab equipment.
• Performs data reduction and data entry tasks.
• Communicates with contractors and project teams on testing activities.
• Notifies supervisors of changes in site conditions or needs.
• Assists with laboratory testing including sample prep and curing.
• Maintains organized field and lab environments.
• Participates in project meetings and coordination.
• Assists with reviewing lab results and project documentation.
