Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking an Intern Level I for a Construction Materials Testing program in Orlando. The role supports field and laboratory testing tasks, data collection, and documentation under supervision to build foundational technical skills and professional competencies.

You will gain exposure to soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials testing while upholding ECS Core Values, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service in a dynamic project environment.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) required.
• Willingness to work in outdoor environments and field conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 85 pounds multiple times daily.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction materials observation and testing in field and lab.
• Observe and participate in testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
• Document site conditions and test results in field reports.
• Assist with equipment preparation and organization.
• Perform basic data entry, calculations, and data reduction.
• Communicate with field staff, contractors, and project team members.
• Notify supervisors of changing site conditions or testing needs.
• Support laboratory testing activities including sample prep and curing.
