Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking an CMT Intern Level I to observe and begin routine field and lab testing tasks in support of construction materials testing projects. You will assist with data collection, documentation, and testing activities while learning construction practices and testing methods.

The role emphasizes gaining foundational technical skills, customer service, and ECS core values as you work under supervision and participate in project workflows.

Qualifications

• Requires pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Basic data entry and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists with field and laboratory testing in soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
• Documents site conditions and testing results in field reports.
• Prepares and organizes field and laboratory equipment.
• Performs basic data entry, calculations, and data reduction tasks.
• Communicates with field staff, contractors, and project team members.
• Notifies supervisors of changing site conditions or testing needs.
• Supports lab testing activities including sample prep and curing.
