Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is seeking an CMT Intern Level I to assist in field and laboratory testing tasks for construction materials projects. You will gather data, document results, and support testing activities under supervision, while developing foundational technical skills in soils, concrete, and asphalt testing.

You will collaborate with senior staff, observe site conditions, comply with safety policies, and contribute to project documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and organized work ethic.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in outdoor environments and field conditions.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds a number of times each day.

Responsibilities

• Assists with construction materials observation and testing activities in the field and laboratory.
• Observes and participates in testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Documents site conditions and testing results accurately in field reports.
• Assists with the preparation and organization of field and laboratory equipment.
• Performs basic data entry, calculations, and data reduction tasks.
• Communicates with field staff, contractors, and project team members.
• Keeps supervisors informed of changing site conditions or additional testing needs.
• Assists with reviewing laboratory results and supporting project documentation.
• Supports laboratory testing activities, including sample preparation, curing, and testing.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of field and laboratory work areas.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Attends project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned
