Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) seeks a CMT Intern Level I to observe and begin routine field and laboratory testing tasks. You will assist with data collection, documentation, and testing under supervision while gaining familiarity with construction practices, materials testing methods, and project workflows.

Develop foundational technical skills, maintain a positive customer service attitude, and embody ECS Core Values as you support field staff and project teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an associate, bachelor or master in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Must complete Radiation Safety, Soils I and Concrete I within specified timeframes.
• Valid driver's license required if driving for ECS subsidiaries.
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and dependable, detail-oriented work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, follow directions, and handle outdoor field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist field and laboratory observation and testing activities in the field and laboratory.
• Observe and participate in testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Document site conditions and testing results accurately in field reports.
• Assist with preparation and organization of field and laboratory equipment.
• Perform basic data entry, calculations, and data reduction tasks.
• Communicate with field staff, contractors, and project team members.
• Keep supervisors informed of changing site conditions or additional testing needs.
• Assist with reviewing laboratory results and supporting project documentation.
• Support laboratory testing activities, including sample preparation, curing, and testing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of field and laboratory work areas.

Pursuing Civil Engineering degree (Associate/Bachelor/Master)
