Job summary

NOVA Engineering & Environmental is seeking a CMT Engineering Technician / Special Inspector to join our growing team in Kennesaw, Georgia. You will work on high-profile commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, transportation, and infrastructure projects across the Atlanta metro area.

This role offers outdoor field work, mentorship, certification support, and opportunities for advancement into senior technician, special inspector, project management, and engineering support roles.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in construction materials testing or related field
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, masonry, grout, mortar, and reinforcing steel per standards
• Observe construction activities and collect field data on active sites
• Review plans and specifications for field observations and testing
• Document results and site conditions using electronic reporting systems
• Communicate testing results with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients
• Assist teams in identifying issues and ensuring compliance with project requirements
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment per industry standards
• Work safely on commercial and heavy civil sites across the Atlanta area
