Job summary

Avalara is seeking a senior product/program leader to own the template and component library for our web content platform. You’ll govern scope, guardrails, and features to ensure brand integrity and ROI across multiple geographies.

You will define data capture, collaborate with internationalization teams, and drive AI-enabled improvements to empower authors while maintaining governance and data quality. This role emphasizes leadership, accountability, and scalable design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology required.
• 7+ years of experience in technical program or product management for a web content management or digital experience platform, including direct ownership of a template or component library at a senior level.
• Direct experience with one or more enterprise content management systems or digital experience platforms including author-facing template and component design.
• Experience defining requirements and guardrails for SEO, tagging, and asset management (DAM).
• Demonstrated, quantifiable use of AI tools to improve platform governance, content operations, or author enablement.
• Track record of raising performance of teams and processes in line with Bar Raiser expectations.

Responsibilities

• Own and govern the CMS template and component library, defining scope, limits, and supported features for each component.
• Set the boundaries of design and feature influence on the platform to reinforce brand consistency and ROI.
• Define what behavioral data must be captured across templates and components to drive understanding of visitor behavior.
• Act as the primary source of truth on platform capabilities and constraints for internal stakeholders.
• Support teams working on internationalization and localization projects and guide workflows for multi-geography publishing.
• Continuously improve usability of the template and component library to lower learning curves.
• Demonstrate platform functionality to stakeholders and translate technical capability into business opportunities.
• Identify shortcomings and translate them into clear, prioritized requirements for CMS teams.
• Identify gaps in content analysis and reporting tools and define requirements to close them.
• Define constraints and guardrails to protect SEO, tagging, and asset management integrity while preserving author flexibility.
• Define asset management strategy and oversee standards for upload, metadata, and retrieval.
• Use AI to accelerate and improve this work end-to-end, emphasizing author success without deep CMS knowledge.
