Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a CMM Programmer to verify precision parts using CMMs and surface plates. You will apply GD&T, interpret drawings, and select gauges to ensure quality.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration, PC-DMIS programming with Romer ARM/DCC CMMs, and maintaining inspection programs. You will work with engineering to improve inspection processes, develop part inspection plans, and recommend drawing changes for manufacturability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CMM programming experience.
• Familiar with Fanuc/Siemens CNC control for on-machine probing.
• Understands ISO 9001 and GD&T concepts.
• Able to read and interpret GD&T and drawing notes.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision inspection (CMM or surface plate) verification on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials.
• Understand GD&T requirements as applied to the engineering drawing and drawing notes.
• Spot interpretation issues as applied to dimensions or evaluation to requirements.
• Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality and inspect tolerances.
• Utilize PC-DMIS programming with Romer ARM and DCC CMMs in a cross-functional setting.
• Create and maintain inspection programs for current revisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and specs.
• Assist engineering with part inspection plans and GD&T issue resolution.
• Suggest drawing changes to improve manufacturability.
• Assist in procuring tools and training teammates.
