Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Dimensional Inspector (CMM Programmer) to travel up to 75% and perform precision inspections on manufactured parts at supplier sites. You will program CMMs, operate FARO arms, and verify drawings, certifications, and conformance to SpaceX specs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate required.
• 3+ years of precision mechanical inspection experience.
• 3+ years of CMM programming, CMM operations, or Faro Arm experience.

Responsibilities

• Travel up to 75% to perform visual and dimensional inspections at supplier sites.
• Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality.
• Inspect feature tolerances using appropriate tools and CMMs.
• Perform complex inspections on purchased parts, components, and materials.
• Review documentation and verify certifications and conformance to design specs.
• Inspect flight hardware at suppliers per drawings, PO, standards, and SpaceX specs.
• Support development of supplier inspection plans and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with teams, lead projects, and drive process improvements.
• Program and set up Articulating Arm (Romer) and CMMs.
