Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our precision manufacturing team in Texas. You will perform surface plate work, in-process and final inspections of aerospace parts, verify conformance to drawings, tolerances, and GD&T using PC-DMIS on CMMs.

You will collaborate with production to reduce defects, document non-conformances, and support Lean initiatives while adhering to ISO 9001/AS9100. The role requires 5+ years in machine shop quality inspection and experience reading blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 5+ years of quality inspection experience in a machine shop.
• 1+ years of experience with blueprint reading, shop math and GD&T.
• DCC (direct computer controlled) CMM with PC-DMIS software experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete surface plate work/inspection of machined aerospace parts.
• Inspect supplied product according to drawings or work order specifications to verify conformance.
• Perform complex inspections following standardized methods.
• Complete in-process inspection, visual and/or dimensional inspection of precision machined parts.
• Interact proactively with production to improve products and reduce defects.
• Communicate and help resolve quality related issues.
• Document non-conformances in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Support quality management system policies and procedure documentation and Lean initiatives.
• Work in a cross functional environment utilizing PC-DMIS programming skills as applied to DCC CMMs.
• Create, maintain and verify CMM programs used for measurements of manufactured parts.
• Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements.
