Job summary

Houston Fitness Partners is seeking an Assistant Club Manager to support Planet Fitness locations in the Houston area. The role focuses on delivering exceptional member service, supervising staff, and maintaining a welcoming club environment.

You will recruit, train, and lead staff, handle front desk operations, resolve member concerns, and assist the Club Manager with reporting, inventory, and compliance. The position includes benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
• Previous work experience at Planet Fitness is a plus.
• Exceptional leadership, diplomacy and listening skills.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
• Strong problem resolution skills, hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic!

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high performing staff consisting of Member Service Representatives, Overnight Member Services Representatives, and Fitness Instructor.
• Lead by example and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensure staff follow superior customer service guidelines.
• Resolve member concerns in a fair and equitable manner.
• Assist with staff management and provide support to Club Manager with reporting, inventory, and other assigned duties as needed.
• Assist in administering and enforcing company policies and procedures with staff and members.
• Involved in all front desk related activities including answering phones in a friendly manner, assisting members with a variety of tasks, checking in members, new member sign-up. Touring perspective. Facilitate all member requests, issues, and questions.
• Ensure prompt opening/closing of gym following proper protocols.
• Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of facility including taking responsibility for largest section of cleaning daily.
• Ensure safety of employees, members, and club property.
• Determine and communicate equipment repair in a timely manner.
• Subject to work at any Planet Fitness location within Houston Fitness Partners franchise.
