Job summary

Silver Creek Valley CC in San Jose, CA is seeking a Cook to join our hospitality team. The role involves stocking, food preparation including main dishes and desserts, plating, and coordinating with servers to complete orders accurately and on time.

Qualified candidates have an Associate Culinary Degree and 2 years of culinary experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Serv Safe certification is preferred. Pay scale is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associates Culinary Degree and 2 years of Culinary Experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Serv Safe Certified preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
• Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks
• Plating prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance
• Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
• Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
• Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
