Job summary

Anthem Golf & Country Club - Ironwood Course is seeking a General Manager to lead the club's strategy, operations, and membership growth. You will develop and execute business plans, drive profitability, and build a strong leadership team while maintaining excellent member satisfaction and a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of club management, hospitality, or related experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience managing budgets and expense allocations.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; STAR certifications, CPR, TABC, Food Handlers, Alcohol Safety certifications.
• Skilled at handling confidential material with discretion and integrity.
• Proficient with computers and spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive business and financial strategy plans for the club.
• Monitor performance metrics against plans to ensure revenue targets are met and adjust as needed.
• Provide strategic leadership to department heads across key areas (Agronomy, Facilities, Fitness & Wellness, Food & Beverage, Golf Operations, Member Experience, Sales).
• Recruit, develop, and evaluate department heads.
• Guide employee development through performance reviews, cross-training, and goal setting.
• Lead recruitment, training, development, and performance management of staff to align service and member satisfaction.
• Implement sales, marketing, and net revenue strategies aligned with financial plans and adjust as needed.
• Maintain expense control systems and forecasting to manage departmental expenses and payroll ratios.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies and meet financial obligations (debt/leases).
• Foster member relationships and maintain high-quality facilities through staffing, programming, service operations, and maintenance.
• Analyze member retention metrics and solicit feedback from resigning members to inform improvements.
• Create a motivating, team-centered work environment focused on member satisfaction.
• Ensure safe and legal operation in accordance with regulatory obligations.
