Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in the United States is seeking a System Development Engineer to help operate and optimize some of the world's largest cloud infrastructure.

You will work on Route 53 and Perimeter Protection, focusing on reliability, automation, and scalability across air-gapped and standard regions. You will design solutions, monitor systems, and collaborate with teams to ensure 100% uptime and robust security postures for U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or CSSLP in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Route 53 and Perimeter Protection services are able to offer customers a 100% uptime SLA.
• We deploy software, troubleshoot software failures, and minimize human involvement through automation such as infrastructure as code and operator tools.
• Manage and monitor systems, build software-based solutions to improve management and monitoring.
• Identify defects, investigate systemic patterns, and escalate operational concerns as needed.
