Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Systems Development Engineer I to own and advance mission-critical services in our ADC. You will design, implement, and support resilient, high-performance systems for government customers operating in air-gapped regions, with the scale of AWS infrastructure.

You will work with a team of engineers, gain experience across cloud technologies, and contribute to operational excellence. A TS/SCI clearance is required and ongoing eligibility is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure.
• Experience programming in at least one modern language (Python, Java, C++, etc.).
• Experience with Linux/Unix and networking fundamentals.
• 1+ years of professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing or architecting resilient and scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and delivery of technology solutions that improve resilience, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Work on defined components with guidance from senior engineers.
• Identify and escalate architectural deficiencies and contribute to solutions.
• Participate in design reviews, cost discussions and post-incident analyses.
• Troubleshoot issues by researching root causes and resolving defects.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support mission-critical services.
