Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Systems Development Engineer I to own and advance mission-critical services in the Amazon Dedicated Clouds (ADC). The role involves contributing to design and delivery of resilient cloud solutions, with on-call support and ongoing learning under senior engineers.

The position requires active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent security certifications. This is a critical, hands-on engineering role within AWS global infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or CND/GSEC certification.
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems and networking administration.
• 1+ years of professional software development experience.
• 1+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and delivery of resilient, high-performance tech solutions.
• Work on well-defined components with guidance toward greater autonomy.
• Identify architectural deficiencies and propose solutions under senior guidance.
• Participate in architecture reviews, design, and post-incident analyses.
• Troubleshoot root causes and resolve defects; escalate when needed.
• Support mission-critical services via on-call rotation.
