Job summary

AWS is seeking a Systems Development Engineer I to own and advance mission-critical services in Amazon Dedicated Clouds (ADC). You will design, build, and operate resilient, high-performance systems for government customers in air-gapped environments.

Ideal candidates have Linux/Networking experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn cloud technologies. A TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Experience with Linux/Unix in large distributed environments.
• Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering.
• 1+ years of software development experience and familiarity with design patterns and scalability.
• Current, active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and delivery of resilient, high-performance solutions.
• Work on well-defined components with guidance from senior engineers.
• Identify and escalate architectural deficiencies and contribute to solutions.
• Participate in design, scoping and prioritization discussions and trade-offs.
• Participate in reviews of architecture, design, and post-incident analyses.
• Troubleshoot defects and resolve root causes; participate in on-call rotation.
