Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a System Development Engineer for the RAPP ADC team within AWS Infrastructure Services. You will help design, build, and operate large-scale, distributed systems for U.S.

Government agencies, emphasizing reliability and automation. The role requires strong Linux and networking knowledge and the ability to write software to automate operations, using infrastructure as code and custom tooling to improve uptime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or CSSLP certification.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, OS).
• Experience with modern languages: C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Route 53 and Perimeter Protection services offer 100% uptime SLA through software deployment and automation.
• Troubleshoot software failures and minimize human interventions via IaC and operator tools.
• Identify systemic patterns, investigate defects, and escalate operational concerns as needed.
