Job summary

Abbott in Sylmar, CA is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to design and develop scalable cloud service applications for medical devices under a regulated product development process. You will contribute to software design, coding, and validation, build JavaScript web apps and Azure-hosted microservices, and work with cross-functional teams to meet design standards.

Strong communication and a BS in a related field are required; knowledge of Java, Angular, Spring, and cloud services will help you

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline, computer science, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of software development experience.
• Proficient in Java and JavaScript programming.
• Experience building web apps with JavaScript frameworks like Angular.
• Hands-on in deploying cloud services in Azure (App Services, Functions, Cosmos DB, DevOps CI/CD).
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, patterns, and UML.
• Experience with server-side tech: Spring, Hibernate, JMS, SOAP/RESTful web services.
• Familiarity with container tech and microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable web applications using JavaScript frameworks.
• Build distributed cloud-based microservices with scalable architecture.
• Prepare software design specifications per Abbott processes.
• Evaluate designs through testing and documentation.
