Job summary

Abbott in Pleasanton, CA is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and evolve full-stack, cloud-native applications running on Microsoft Azure for a mission-critical healthcare SaaS platform.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate in an Agile environment. The role requires 10+ years of backend experience with Java 11+, Spring Boot, microservices, and frontend skills in Angular/TypeScript.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend development experience with full-stack capability
• Experience with Java 11+, Spring Boot and microservices
• Knowledge of REST APIs and GraphQL is a plus
• Experience with Azure PaaS services and cloud-native SaaS apps
• Frontend skills in Angular/TypeScript/JavaScript/CSS/HTML are a plus
• Experience with testing (JUnit, Jest) and load testing tools like JMeter/Lighthouse
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and secure coding practices

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement microservices on Azure
• Build cloud-native SaaS apps following well-architected principles
• Mentor junior engineers and drive architectural decisions
• Collaborate in an Agile Scrum/Kanban environment
• Ensure security and performance best practices
• Write unit tests and conduct load testing
