Job summary

Abbott is hiring an Associate Staff Software Engineer to build Full Stack cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure. You will design microservices with Java 11+ and Spring Boot, build responsive Angular UIs, and ensure security and performance in a mission-critical healthcare SaaS system.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate in Agile teams, and work with Azure services like Cosmos DB and Service Bus. Expect 10% travel and a strong emphasis on code quality and scalable architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 6+ years of backend development experience (full stack preferred) with proven ability to lead development in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
• Experience building cloud-native SaaS applications on Azure, including Azure PaaS services: Service Bus, Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, Redis Cache, Identity Manager.

Responsibilities

• Design, and implement microservices using Java 11+, Spring Boot, and REST APIs (GraphQL is a plus).
• Build cloud-native SaaS applications on Azure Cloud following well-architected principles.
• Work with Azure PaaS services: Service Bus, Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, Redis Cache, Identity Manager.
• Build responsive UIs using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
• Implement NgRx state management and work with charting/grids libraries (amCharts, AG-Grid).
• Write unit tests using JUnit and Jest; apply static code analysis tools.
• Conduct load testing with JMeter and Lighthouse.
• Ensure security, performance, and adherence to design patterns; mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban).
