Job summary

Chatham Financial is seeking a Security Engineering Manager to lead and evolve our security engineering discipline within a cloud-native SaaS risk platform. This hands-on engineering leader will design and implement security controls across Azure, containerized services, and .NET applications while maturing our security posture and SOC 2 readiness.

You will mentor a growing team, partner with Engineering, DevOps, and Compliance, and drive secure SDLC practices, threat modeling, and automation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of security engineering experience, with software or cloud focus.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers and scaling teams.
• Deep hands-on Azure cloud security experience.
• Strong knowledge of secure coding practices, threat modeling, and OWASP Top 10.
• Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with SOC 2 controls and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Security Engineering function from player-coach to full team.
• Design, implement security controls across Azure cloud, containers, and .NET apps.
• Mature cloud and application security practices, including threat modeling.
• Secure SDLC by integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.
• Manage third-party penetration testing vendors with coordination and remediation tracking.
• Provide secure coding training to engineers and drive best-practice adoption.
• Maintain auditable SOC 2 controls with auditors and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Compliance to embed security.
• Evaluate and operate security tooling with emphasis on automation.
• Oversee cloud security posture management and drift detection.
• Address AI/LLM security risks and secure integration guidance.
