Job summary

State Street is seeking a Head of Cloud Security Engineering to lead a team of cloud security engineers across multi-cloud environments, delivering secure-by-design architectures and controls. You will uplift security controls and guide governance while partnering with CyberSecurity and Global Technology Services.

The role requires deep expertise in AWS/Azure, containerization, and compliance frameworks. You will mentor staff and drive incident response and security enablement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading SRE, DevSecOps or cloud security engineering teams.
• 10+ years in SRE or cloud security in public cloud environments.
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes in AWS, Azure or OCI.
• Familiarity with NIST 800-53 and CMM.
• Experience aligning cloud security controls to the MITRE framework.
• Experience with cloud posture management tooling (Wiz, Prisma).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of cloud security engineers to secure multi-cloud environments.
• Uplift security controls across State Street’s multi-cloud ecosystem.
• Oversee cloud service hardening, policy-as-code pipelines, and posture monitoring.
• Advise on cloud security reviews, enablement activities, and incident response.
• Ensure operational/governance hygiene (SOPs, reference architectures).
• Coordinate deployment and management of tooling across clouds.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate training to maintain high standards.
• Collaborate with CyberSecurity and Global Technology Services on cross-functional needs.
