Job summary

Motion Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join a global investment management firm. The role focuses on securing cloud-native applications and working closely with software engineers to embed security into the development lifecycle.

You will lead secure software development, cloud application protection, API security, and testing automation, establishing standards across modern architectures and enabling teams to remediate vulnerabilities independently.

Qualifications

• Experience securing cloud-native applications in AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong understanding of application security principles.
• Experience with Secure SDLC methodologies.
• Knowledge of API security, authentication, and authorization frameworks.
• Experience with SAST, DAST, SCA, and testing tools.
• OWASP Top 10 awareness and web app vulnerability knowledge.
• Experience securing CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or C#.
• Familiarity with microservices and Kubernetes.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security reviews for cloud-based applications and services.
• Partner with development teams to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Implement application security tooling within development and deployment pipelines.
• Perform threat modeling for new cloud initiatives.
• Develop security standards and reusable patterns for cloud-native development.
• Assess architectures for weaknesses and design flaws.
• Automate application security testing and vulnerability validation.
• Improve API security controls and authentication mechanisms.
• Support remediation efforts from penetration testing findings.
• Educate engineering teams on secure coding practices and threats.
