Job summary

State Street is seeking a Head of Cloud Security Engineering to lead our cloud security engineers and raise the bar for security across a multi‑cloud environment, aligning architecture with secure‑by‑design principles. You will own cloud hardening, policy‑as‑code, posture monitoring and incident response, and mentor the team to maintain operational excellence across AWS, Azure and OCI.

This role partners with CyberSecurity and Global Technology Services to deliver cross‑functional safeguards,

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of AWS and/or Azure with security guardrails.
• At least 3+ years leading SRE, DevSecOps or cloud security teams.
• At least 10+ years in SRE or cloud security in public clouds.
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes in cloud infra.
• Familiar with NIST 800-53 and CMM frameworks.
• Experience aligning cloud controls to the MITRE framework.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of cloud security engineers to secure State Street cloud environments.
• Uplift security controls across multi‑cloud ecosystem.
• Oversee cloud service hardening and policy‑as‑code pipelines.
• Ensure SOPs and reference architectures are implemented and maintained.
• Coordinate deployment and management of tooling across clouds.
• Mentor engineers and deliver training for operational excellence.
