Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to implement and maintain security controls across Microsoft 365, GCC High, Azure, AWS and hybrid environments. The role emphasizes hands-on cloud engineering, regulatory compliance, and AI security for government and commercial workloads.

You will administer cloud security platforms, coordinate risk assessments, and translate regulatory requirements into practical configurations while coordinating with risk and compliance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Five years of related experience including three+ years in cloud, security, systems or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft cloud or AWS security capabilities; support for Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS and hybrid services.
• Experience implementing or maintaining technical controls through cloud policy, scripting, automation, or infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls across Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and hybrid services; configure guardrails and secure landing zones.
• Administer cloud security posture management and workload protection; onboard environments and monitor coverage.
• Support DFARS, ITAR, ISO 27001, GDPR and other frameworks; perform risk assessments and maintain evidence for audits.
• Develop and test AI/security configurations; ensure data residency, access controls, and safe AI integration.
• Collaborate with identity, network, data security and SOC teams; maintain docs and guides; participate in SOC activities.
