Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to implement and maintain security controls across Microsoft 365 Commercial and GCC High, Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments. The role focuses on guardrails, automation, and evidence; ensuring compliance with government and industry frameworks while enabling secure AI/ML deployments.

You will configure security policies, test controls, and coordinate with Risk & Compliance, SOC, and platform owners to reduce risk with minimal service disruption.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, CS, engineering, or related field.
• Five years of related experience, including three in cloud security.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft cloud or AWS security capabilities.
• Experience implementing/maintaining controls through policy, scripting, or IaC.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls across Microsoft 365, GCC High, Azure, AWS, and hybrid services.
• Configure policies, IaC controls, deployment automation, and integrations with owners.
• Review findings, troubleshoot control failures, and propose safe configuration changes.
• Administer cloud security posture management and workload protection capabilities.
• Coordinate with Risk and Compliance and support audits and remediation.
