Job summary

Crescent Energy is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer (Cloud/SaaS) to secure cloud platforms, SaaS applications, APIs, and AI-driven automation across the enterprise. You will lead centralized logging, telemetry, and detection engineering while partnering with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business teams to improve resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
• Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
• Certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, GIAC, Azure/AWS security certifications are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Secure and govern AI-driven automation, agentic workflows, SaaS platforms, and cloud-connected business processes across the enterprise.
• Protect SaaS integrations, APIs, automation pipelines, service-to-service connections, and cloud-connected workflows from misuse, misconfiguration, excessive privilege, and unauthorized access.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, and data teams to ensure cloud and SaaS platforms are deployed with security controls, monitoring, and governance.
• Support the development and enforcement of security standards for cloud services, SaaS applications, machine identities, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Enable, maintain, and improve centralized logging across cloud platforms, SaaS applications, enterprise services, and security tooling.
• Ensure log integrity, retention, security, and availability per enterprise policy and compliance.
• Validate logging coverage and identify gaps that may reduce detection or investigation effectiveness.
• Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams to onboard new systems into centralized logging pipelines.
• Integrate cloud and SaaS telemetry with SOC/SIEM platforms and security monitoring solutions.
• Tune detection rules and alert thresholds to improve visibility into SaaS activity and API misuse.
• Support SOC operations through alert triage, investigation, escalation, and response coordination.
• Document findings and recommend control improvements after investigations or events.
• Continuously enhance automation, detection, and response capabilities across the enterprise.
• Identify opportunities to automate security tasks and improve telemetry quality without disrupting operations.
