Job summary

Crescent Energy is seeking a Cybersecurity Associate to support day-to-day security operations, monitoring, triage, and reporting. You will work with security, infrastructure, and business teams to protect digital assets and improve cyber resilience.

The role emphasizes incident response, vulnerability tracking, and security awareness; prior SIEM familiarity and exposure to security operations are preferred. Houston-based, on-site position with equity in the company’s growth.

Responsibilities

• Security Monitoring & Alert Validation: monitor alerts and validate threats; assist with false positives and improve processes.
• Incident Triage & Response: support triage, investigation, and response; document findings and track actions to closure.
• Cybersecurity Service Request Management: manage security-related requests; coordinate with users and IT teams; ensure proper closure.
• Logging, SIEM & Security Operations Support: assist with onboarding log sources and ensure coverage across systems and tools.
• Vulnerability Tracking & Reporting: track remediation efforts and report on vulnerabilities and progress.
• Security Awareness & Training: support awareness materials and phishing campaign efforts.
• Metrics, Reporting & Threat Awareness: generate dashboards and trend reports; analyze alerts and incidents.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
