Job summary

Allstate is seeking a Platform Engineer Lead Consultant, a full stack engineer who builds the cloud application development and hosting platforms for Allstate. You will own, develop, implement and operate Allstate's cloud platforms and lead paired programming teams to deliver scalable services.

You will advance CI/CD practices, automate infrastructure as code, and mentor engineers while ensuring SLAs are met and customer requests are handled.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering or related cloud engineering roles.

Responsibilities

• Recommends and maintains technology related policies and procedures.
• Identifies and troubleshoots availability and performance issues at multiple deployment layers.
• Designs, builds, manages and operates the infrastructure as a service layer supporting platform services.
• Designs, builds, manages and operates the continuous delivery framework and tools; automates lifecycles of platform components.
• Leads engineering practices around test driven and continuous delivery of infrastructure.
• Designs, builds, manages and operates platform infrastructure and environments with a focus on automation and IaC.
• Evaluates performance trends and scalability plans for capacity needs.
• Integrates components and develops new services with open source focus for minimal developer friction.
• Develops a log analytics solution for logging-as-a-service using open source tools.
• Develops comprehensive monitoring using Graphite, ELK, Datadog, New Relic and similar tools.
