Job summary

Syneos Health/ inVentiv Health Commercial LLC seeks an Executive Director of Cloud Ops and Infrastructure to define and drive a comprehensive cloud strategy across Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud, and on‑prem systems. You will lead global teams, oversee security, FinOps, and platform engineering to enable scalable, compliant, and cost‑effective operations.

The role requires deep multicloud expertise, leadership experience in regulated industries, and a proven track record of delivering large‑scale

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering; master's preferred.
15+ years IT infra/ops with 5+ years in senior leadership.
Strong multicloud expertise (Azure, AWS, Oracle).
Experience in life sciences or regulated industries preferred.
Hands-on with servers (Windows/Linux), databases (SQL/Oracle), containers, and Kubernetes.
Cloud certifications a plus.
Proven ability to lead global teams and manage budgets.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

Define and execute cloud strategy across Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud and on-prem systems.
Oversee server administration (Windows/Linux), databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and edge deployments.
Collaborate with engineering to develop an internal developer portal and self-service provisioning.
Lead FinOps initiatives, ensuring cost transparency and accountability.
Work with Security on IAM, zero‑trust, and compliance (GxP, HIPAA, GDPR).
Own relationships with cloud providers and MSPs; negotiate contracts and SLAs.
Champion observability and incident/problem management for reliability.
Lead a global team across NA, APAC, EMEA, LATAM; communicate strategy to executives.
