Job summary

The University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH seeks a Cloud Operations Technical Lead to guide the Automation and Platform Services team and own the CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure automation initiatives across enterprise IT.

The role emphasizes leadership, planning, and mentoring, with responsibilities for resource scheduling, staff development, performance reviews, and ensuring policy compliance while delivering high-availability services.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT; equivalent mix accepted.
Experience with LAMP stack administration.
Experience with VMware and public clouds (Azure/AWS).
Scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
Familiarity with container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
Experience with configuration management tools (Salt, Puppet, SCCM).
Knowledge of APIs and service integration.
Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and supervision to the Automation and Platform Services team.
Oversee quality and timeliness of delivery.
Plan and schedule team resources.
Hire and onboard staff.
Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews.
Ensure adherence to policies and improve performance.
Contribute to merit-based salary adjustments.
