Job summary

The University System of New Hampshire in Durham, NH is seeking a Cloud Operations Technical Lead to guide the Automation and Platform Services team in building, deploying, and maintaining the enterprise IT automation toolkit and CI/CD pipelines. You will lead planning, staffing, and performance reviews while ensuring high availability of cloud, virtualization, and container environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required; combined with 6 years of IT experience accepted
• Experience leading Automation/Platform teams in enterprise IT environments
• Strong DevOps/CI/CD background and experience with modern tooling
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) and automation
• Knowledge of public clouds (AWS/Azure) and VMware virtualization
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and configuration management
• Understanding of API integration and Site Reliability Engineering practices

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision to the Automation and Platform Services team
• Oversee all team work, ensuring quality and timely delivery
• Plan and schedule resources; hiring and onboarding; staff development
• Conduct performance reviews and goal setting; manage salary considerations
• Develop and maintain automation environments and CI/CD pipelines
• Support DevOps practices, incident management, and continuous improvement
• Coordinate with application, system administrators, and developers to plan needs
• Maintain and improve system monitoring, performance, and security testing
