Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Arlington, VA, is seeking a senior software engineer to help build encrypted network connections and scalable cloud services for AWS customers with stringent security requirements.

You will design distributed systems, implement security protocols across WANs, mentor teammates, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure service availability. This role requires TS/SCI with polygraph eligibility and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and CSSLP certification.
• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, IPSec).
• Active Top Secret security clearance (or higher) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and implement cloud based services for managing encrypted network connections
• Build distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, with ease of management and use.
• Influence product direction through data-backed technical insights and framing solutions in terms of business impact.
• Mentor your teammates, helping to grow and develop their technical and operational skills
• Participate in oncall rotation to maintain service availability and reliability.
