Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a highly capable engineer to design and implement cloud connectivity solutions for secure AWS workloads. You will architect encrypted network connections across distributed systems, building scalable infrastructure with a focus on security and performance.

The role requires deep experience in software development, networking, and security, plus the ability to mentor teammates and participate in on-call rotations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture (patterns, reliability, scalability) experience.
• Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, IPSec).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and implement cloud based services for managing encrypted network connections.
• Build distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, with ease of management and use.
• Influence product direction through data-backed technical insights and framing solutions in terms of business impact.
• Mentor your teammates, helping to grow and develop their technical and operational skills.
• Participate in oncall rotation in support of our services.
