Job summary

Amazon in Cupertino, CA is seeking a Cloud Hardware Development Engineer focused on system integration to build, deploy and scale networks supporting AWS data centers. You’ll design scalable testing infra, develop tooling and collaborate with suppliers to ensure reliable, cost-effective interconnects across global deployments.

You will advance testing pipelines, influence hardware and software choices, and balance performance with reliability to meet AWS customer needs.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of SQL experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering or related field
• Basic understanding of optical transceivers and data center networks
• 2+ years of scripting and test automation using Python, Java, Bash, Perl
• 2+ years of cleaning, validating, and developing metrics for monitoring and alarming on fleet data

Responsibilities

• Develop automated tools and standardized processes for high-volume optical transceiver system level testing
• Lead collaborative efforts with internal stakeholders and supplier partners to establish robust testing frameworks and quality assurance procedures for optical modules
• Work with network operations team in identifying operation issues and improving quality and RMA process
• Engage stakeholders to identify areas of improvements during rack deployment or bring-up
• Work with network operations team to improve link error handling efficiency
