Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Cupertino seeks a Senior Systems Development Engineer to lead automation software across compute and bare-metal network infrastructure powering our distributed storage platform.

You will guide a diverse team of software and hardware engineers, define telemetry, testing standards, and fleet performance improvements while collaborating with AWS Hardware Engineering, EC2 and other services to deliver scalable, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Experience leading the design, build and deployment of complex software in production.
• 5+ years of systems development in a data center environment.
• 5+ years deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Strong collaboration across teams and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural problems and manage a mix of software and system engineers.
• Improve tools and processes for fleet performance.
• Oversee platform development efforts and telemetry.
• Standardize testing and define alarms for platforms.
• Collaborate with AWS Hardware Engineering, EC2 and other AWS services.
