Job summary

Oracle is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join the Network Region Build (NRB) team in Chicago. You will help design, deploy, and operate large-scale cloud networks, including data center fabrics, edge networks, and backbone connectivity, while driving automation with Network Automation.

The role requires deep knowledge of network protocols and programming for automation at scale, supporting OCI regions with millions of servers and diverse connectivity across a global footprint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred and 8+ years of related experience
• Experience in a large ISP or cloud provider environment
• Knowledge of Python for automation and datacenter design
• Exposure to Ethernet hardware and routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/IS-IS)
• Experience with network modeling and automation tooling
• Strong communication and mentoring skills

Responsibilities

• Define high-level objectives and delivery procedures for network lifecycle programs
• Coordinate effort of engineers and provide guidance to teams
• Lead technical design and detailed implementation plans for complex network solutions
• Serve as escalation point for network events and drive root-cause analysis
• Develop scripts to automate non-traditional tasks and assist in automation delivery projects
• Collaborate with product teams and PMO to assess gaps and needs
